Do you need to pre-wash Shweshwe?
Shweshwe is a heritage product still made the same way as in the industrial revolution. It requires a pre-wash before cutting and sewing.
Just soak your fabric in warm water and hang it out to dry. Plain and simple. No detergents or washing machine required.
You may do a subsequent rinse in lukewarm salty water if you choose.
Please send an email with questions.
