Improv Like a Charm

$0.00

If you feel intimidated by heading in the direction of improv quilting, here is a great ice-breaker project just for you. This summary was written to accompany a demonstration on International Quilting Day 2025. It is a simple improv project using 5″ squares and random slashes with a rotary cutter. Make a throw 49″ x 63″ from 28 fat quarters of Shweshwe.

Shweshwe requires a pre-wash before cutting. A washed shweshwe fat quarter yields 9 squares of 5″ x 5″.

Suitable for all skill levels: skills required are rotary cutting and stitching by machine.

All patterns are for personal use only.
